Slow down and reap the rewards of a gentle approach to yoga. This class moves at a slower pace to allow for an increased emphasis on breathing and quieting of body and mind. Practiced primarily in seated, reclining, and supine positions, gentle yoga is appropriate for students of all levels, including those who are brand new to yoga, students who are recovering from injuries, as well as continuing yoga students seeking a more introspective practice.
Level 1-2 focuses on building correct alignment in postures to create stability and endurance. Creative sequences will build on poses from Level 1 and Beginners + while introducing new variations and deeper expressions. This class will enhance your understanding of the energetic body through breathing and meditation work, and lessons based around chakras, bandhas, and other subtle systems.
Begin each week on a note of clarity and positivity. This one hour class uses gentle yoga postures and pranayama as a gateway to prepare for deep meditation practices rooted in the Tantric Yoga tradition, including Yoga Nidra. Discover a deeper relationship to stillness, learn more about the subtle energy systems, and give yourself a chance to mellow out.
Level 1-2 expands the yoga practice of the Level 1 Beginners class. Attention is paid to deepening poses, facilitating flow, increasing use of breath and building edurance. This upbeat creative yoga practice, seamlessly linking breath and movement, will keep you present as you learn to move gracefully in and out of poses. Utilizing Sun Salutations, strength building and connected movements, Level 1-2 will build confidence and help you stay present and centered.
